Panoramic views from Lakes Ohau, Ruataniwha, Benmore, Pukaki over to Lake Tekapo plus Aoraki Mount Cook and the Southern Alps, this will be an awesome mountain bike experience!

It`s hard to find a helibike in New Zealand with better scenery. An eight minute helicopter flight takes us up onto the Benmore Range to land in the tussock at the end of a 4WD farm track where we mount up and start riding down! There is a variety of riding with some steep sections (easy outs for those not wanting the challenge), a bit of peddling (yes, in some places you have to pedal) a little bit of uphill, some single track through the 4WD grooves, a very steep challenge (with a nice easy track for those who prefer a more relaxed descent) and a fast run (if you want) at the bottom through Sunset Gully. There will be plenty of photo stops along the way to appreciate the views and we can even tell you about the ecology, geology and history of the landscape.

This is a fun ride that is suitable for anyone with some cross country mountain bike experience. Length 17 to 22km with a 1300m vertical descent approximately 3 to 3.5 hours.
