Lake Rotoroa Lodge

Set amongst the northern tip of the spectacular Southern Alps in Nelson, this unique and quiet lodge built in the early 1920′s is the perfect place to become spoiled in nature. From the lodge’s idyllic and romantic lakeside location, guests get to gaze the length of Lake Rotoroa and beyond. Here, you can experience some of the world’s finest brown trout fishing just a few steps away.

Enjoy the views from multiple rooms, from the lodge’s open-fired sitting room, dining room or from many of their guest rooms. The Nelson Lakes National Park is an alpine environment and is just one of the three National Parks which surround the city of Nelson.

Fly Fishing
Lake Rotoroa Lodge is renowned for it’s fantastic South Island fly fishing, there is more than 22 rivers to choose from in the area accessed by car and even more by helicopter. With the diverse locations the options are endless, and with their professional guides with very keen eyes and great knowledge of the rivers we are sure you’ll get some superb catches! All gear is available at the lodge including women’s waders, wading boots, over 40 rods ranging from 3 to 6 weights in brands such as Thomas & Thomas, Sage and Hardy.
