Owen River Lodge

Owen River Lodge is a 5 star rated fishing lodge offering a boutique contemporary design with a relaxing atmosphere. This lodge opened in 2003 and is located in the Owen Valley near Murchison, in the Nelson Lakes district of the South Island. It takes a leisurely 90 minute drive from Nelson or approximately 3.5 hours from Christchurch. Immerse yourselves in luxury, warmth and forget about the usual day routine, get out into the wilderness.

The lodge has great views and the guest cottage suites are breathtaking. It sits on the bank of the Owen River and with almost a kilometer of river frontage, it is an ideal locale for that quiet after-dinner cast during the evening rise. The food at Owen River Lodge has been described as stunning – using only the very best of fresh, locally sourced produce, much of which is out of their own garden. There are two guest lounges, one of which is equipped with a TV/Video Player and DVD player as well as a Notebook PC for you to check emails etc.

Fishing
New Zealand has developed a reputation for having the best sighted river fishing for trout in the world, Owen River Lodge is centrally located, allowing easy access to the Nelson and West Coast Fisheries. There are over 30 waters accessible by road and countless others by helicopter.  The lodge offers a friendly, professional service for both experienced and novice fly fishers.

Accommodation
6 Guest cottages are available located in the gardens, just a short stroll from the main lodge enabling the highest level of privacy. These spacious rooms include either a king-size double bed or twin king-size single beds, reverse cycle air conditioning, an electronic safe, ironing facilities, alarm clock, mini bar and more.
