This 5 star luxury lodge is situated on 150 acres of private forest – 50 minutes drive from the South Island city of Nelson. Centrally located between three of New Zealand’s major National Parks and offers access to world class brown trout rivers, wilderness activities and spectacular scenery.

Stonefly Lodge is built from natural stone and timber from their own 150 acre property, designed to meet the needs of discerning travelers but still providing a wilderness experience. This lodge has a large stone double sided fireplace which provides a satisfying ambiance to the games room, dining room and sunroom. Guests can dine together in the dining area or there are private dining opportunities which can also be catered for. Stonefly’s cuisine is made fresh from their garden with home made produce, local quality meats and fresh seasonal seafood.

Fishing
Nelson is renowned for it’s spectacular fly fishing locations, home to big wild brown trout in crystal clear waters in idyllic locations. This region holds the most sunshine hours in all of New Zealand and offers dozens of rivers and streams to pick from. The average catch size of brown trout in this region is approx 4lb-5lb, with catches of 8lb plus quite common! But don’t just stop in Nelson, as there are many more areas available by helicopter! Accommodation
Upstairs you will find all the accommodation with only 4 guest rooms featuring astounding views from your private balconies overlooking the Motueka River and beyond. All rooms feature private ensuites, top quality duvets, local New Zealand art, luggage storage and more. There are two guest rooms in each of the two wings of the building enabling the rooms to be quite remote from the main activities area on the ground floor. All guests rooms have wireless internet connection, breakfast can be served on the guest room private balconies is desired.
