Terrace Downs is located an easy hour’s scenic drive from Christchurch International airport, perched on the edge of the Rakaia River and boasting stunning views of Mt Hutt. The resort features two choices of deluxe accommodation: Terrace Villa Suites and Fairway Chalets. This stunning resort is where you can do as much or as little as you like.

Fishing
Located around some of the finest fishing available in New Zealand, you’ll be boasting about your experience for a long time. The Rakaia River is known for New Zealand’s best salmon fishing, available for single or multi-day fishing excursions. Guided trips include fly fishing for trout and salmon in spring creeks, mountain streams, lakes and snow-fed rivers, fly casting lessons and raft based trips. For more remote area’s get a helicopter to take you to the best spots without the crowds!

Hunting
Terrace Downs will set you up for the ultimate hunt, experience the pinnacle of New Zealand’s hunting in the South with some of the most experienced, safe and enjoyable hunting guides in the industry. Whether you’re an avid rifle or bow hunting enthusiast their guides will ensure you have a memorable experience. Hunting is available year round using 4WD, quad bikes, jet boat or helicopter giving you access to breathtaking high country wilderness for your chosen species. Red Stag, elk, fallow deer, tahr, chamois, arapawa rams, wild goats, wild boar or game birds are available. Prime trophy hunting is late February – September.

Accommodation
Experience luxury in pristine landscapes in which the South Island is famous for, Terrace Downs caters for all ages featuring two types of accommodation.

Terrace Villa Suites
Self contained villas designed to complement the regional landscape. One, two and three bedroom apartments are available providing an open plan lounge and dining area, gas fire, fully equipped kitchen and private balcony. Enjoy luxurious California king-split beds, feather bedding and a raised double spa bath in the main en-suite bathroom.

Fairway Chalets
Nine fairway chalets are located along the Terrace Downs Golf Course, there is three to four bedroom homes which sleep six to eight guests comfortably. Each chalet offers an open plan feel, and the ultimate luxury hideaway. Enjoy the panoramic views of the golf course and surrounding mountains.
