The Formosa Golf Resort’s golf course is surrounded by lush farmland and stunning views over the Hauraki Gulf, and is about 45 minutes from downtown Auckland. The course was designed by golfing legend Sir Bob Charles and is modeled on the Augusta National, home of the US Masters and was the venue for the 1998 New Zealand Open.

Formosa is listed in The Finest Golf Clubs of the World and covers an area of 440 acres. The course has panoramic views of Waiheke Island and Rangitoto from its clifftop and coastal fairways, along which hundreds of pohutukawa trees and palms have been planted. Sixteen of the course’s holes have northerly views of the Hauraki Gulf and its many islands. The 11th to the 16th holes run along a clifftop overlooking the shoreline.

The Formosa has 5 star accommodation consisting of Deluxe and Executive villas and it’s Sports Complex Centre has facilities to cater for a wide range of leisure activities. The Complex consists of a heated, indoor swimming pool, spa and sauna, a fully equipped gymnasium, two indoor international standard tennis courts and a squash court.
