The famous Routeburn Track is one of New Zealands’ Great Walks. Normally a 3 day walk, you can do part of it in 10 hours. Your guide will collect you from Queenstown and transfer you to the Routeburn Shelter, located in Mt. Aspiring National Park. Access to the track is via a swing bridge, where you are immediately immersed into stunning wilderness. This wide variety of flora and fauna are all on display which is sure to impress!

As your guide shares information about the historical significance they’ll lead you across spectacular canyons and if you’re lucky you may spot some brave individuals taking an icy plunge! There are plenty of waterfalls to enjoy and lots of places to rest along the river. The trail is moderately paced, rising gradually towards stunning snow-capped peaks. Enjoy your mouth-watering lunch consisting of fruit, sandwiches, energy snacks and drink in this beautiful New Zealand alpine setting.

This hike is an average of 7 hours walking, track surfaces vary from smooth and well-formed to rough and rocky. If you are not a regular walker, it is recommended you begin getting in shape several weeks before your departure.
