3 Day Rahui's Ride

Te-Arai-Point

Rahui Te Kiri was the daughter of the paramount Maori chief Te Kiri whose territory included the land this ride goes over. Rahui owned all this land and lived at Hauturu (Little Barrier Island) and Leigh until her 102nd Year.

This ride can be adapted to a 2 day and 1 or 2 nights with appropriate price adjustment.

Day 1 - Arrival, Pakiri beach

Depart at 10:00am from Pakiri on a full day ride to Te Arai Point riding along Pakiri Beach, through the sand dunes, pine forests and bush trails. Stop for lunch at the fresh water lakes where weather permitting you may like to swim with your horse. Afterwards ride towards Te Arai Point offering fantastic views out to the Hen and Chickens Islands (Taranga) Moko Hinau and the Barrier Islands. Your accommodation for the night is at the Lakeview Chalets.

Day 2 -Te Arai

Today we return to Pakiri along the beach and through the forest and dunes after riding through forest at Te Arai, tonight we stay in a beach house. (Approx 5 Hours Riding)

Day 3 - Te Arai and Pakiri

Today experience both beaches, with a full day ride along the long white sands of Te Arai beach much loved by the surfers for its left hand break, ride over Te Arai Point and through the forest. Finish your day riding along Pakiri beach and through an ancient pohutukawa glade to your accommodation at Pakiri and a hearty dinner to follow. (Approx 5 Hours Riding).
